Inside of the GSX-R1000’s sleek body panels however it packs a tremendously powerful yet easy-to-use 999cc liquid-cooled Inline-Four cylinder engine. Other changes included subtle chassis tweaks including a thicker frame, braced swingarm and higher-spec suspension components.

Since, Suzuki’s Superbike has received four key revamaps, the most recent being the 2009 model. Physically the size of the Gixxer Thou has been substantially reduced due to the use of a more compact engine. Suzuki GSXR1000 engine also features new bore/stoke dimensions and a matching cylinder head that houses larger intake and exhaust valves. Also new is the use of an innovative Big-Piston Fork design from technical partner, Showa which not only reduces weight but increases performance. Other changes include a longer swingarm, which will better control the Suzuki GSXR1000’s massive 160-plus horsepower. It also retains the Suzuki GSXR1000’s now signature twin titanium mufflers first introduced in 2007.
